Upcoming Mission Trips

All of our members are encouraged to participate in mission trips. Expectations of those interested in going on a mission trip are as follows.

  • • Feel lead of God to go.
  • • Develop a prayer team for support while away.
  • • Be willing to be trained in the area of service.
  • • Respect the culture and traditions of the people whom we are serving.
  • • Learn and respect the practices of local Christians.
  • • Be a team player.
  • • Be flexible and be willing to be inconvenienced.
  • • Consume no alcohol while on the trip.
  • • Be responsible to acquire appropriate inoculations and medical advice before going.
  • • All international trips require a current passport.

Payment Information

Registration is not final until the non-refundable $100 deposit is made.  The deposit must be received within 5 business days of submitting this registration form.  You can pay online at http://www.woodridge.org/giving/ or pay the church business office during office hours Monday – Thursday from 8-5pm.  Click on the “one time donation” link and put the amount, dates, and the name of the mission trip in the other category.  If making your deposit and installment payments online, WBC prefers payment be made using EFT of your checking or savings account.  If a credit card is used for payment, please increase the cost of your trip by 3% when making your payments to cover credit card processing fees. 

Commitments for all trips should be confirmed with a deposit at least 60 days in advance of departure and final payment 30 days before.  Payments for flights are due when booked.  Send eye care trip payments to:

2012 International Mission Opportunities 

The following dates and prices are subject to change.  Final price will be determined when airline tickets are purchased.  All of the eye care trips are jointly sponsored trips with Woodridge Baptist Church and Sight Ministries International (SMI).  Contact Hugh Poland about the music ministry trips.

Panama – February 18th to 24th | Eye Care and Evangelism

We will provide an eye care clinic to the Kuna population on a remote island off the eastern coast of Panama.  (Price: $1,600)

McAllen, Texas – March 10th to 16th | VBS, Sports, Music and Evangelism

The family mission trip is an inexpensive opportunity to minister together as a family during spring break in the largely Hispanic population of McAllen, TX.  (Price: $500 per family for the hotel/breakfast.  Transportation and other meals are not included in this price.)

Spain – June 6th to 16th | Music and Evangelism

We will be in western Spain (Extremadura) near Portugal.  We will go under the ministry platform of doing a “cultural” exchange which will open doors to sharing Christ in a relational way.  (Estimated Price: $2,400)  Click here to register for this trip.

Panama Church Construction | June 9th - 15th

We will help to build a church in the San Blas islands in Panama. There are three opportunities ranging from home repair to constructing two complete churches.  (Estimated Price: $1,600)  

Turkey – June 15th to 22nd | Eye Care and Evangelism

We will provide eye care to people in small villages in eastern Turkey among the Zaza unreached people group.  We will partner with local missionaries and believers to provide physical sight to a spiritually dark area where there are few believers.  (Estimated Price: $2,400 or $3,600 for both the tour and eye care trip) Click here to register for this trip.

Galveston, Texas – June 25th to 29th | Middle School Mission Trip

Middle School students will head to Galveston to work with the Galveston Independent School District, Boys and Girls Club and the Salvation Army.  Our middle school students will do community service projects, sort for the Salvation Army, and work with the children at the Boys and Girls Club of Galveston.  (Estimated Price: $75)

Panama – July 7th to 13th | Upward Basketball Camp

We will conduct an Upward basketball camp to the Kuna Indian children in Panama. Children of high school age may attend if accompanied by a parent.  (Estimated Price: $1,600) Click here to register for this trip.

Chicago, IL – July 21st to 28th | High school Mission Trip

High School Students will head to Chicago where we will team up with the Gentry’s who are church planters in the city.  Our team will be hosting sports camps in local apartment complexes to help the missionaries pen point families who would be instrumental in establishing a “House Church” in each apartment complex.  (Estimated Price: $150)
